Shoprite MMA: Now With Cash Wallet

The Shoprite Money Market app and USSD, designed and developed here at Byte Orbit HQ, were created to digitalise the Money Market services that are offered in-store and allow customers to save, send and spend on the go with future enhancements that include banking capabilities. Customers can access Money Market services such as buying airtime, data, gaming and grocery vouchers, as well as sending and receiving money from the Shoprite app, WhatsApp or via USSD. 

Since its release in August, last year, we have provided product support, and worked closely with Shoprite to launch several enhancements to make it easy for customers to utilise the app. Shoprite has officially launched the banking integration of the Money Market Account called the Cash Wallet. Anyone with a valid South African ID can register and reap all the benefits of a banking account. 

The Money Market Account provides customers with the following benefits: 

• Low-cost banking with no unwanted fees (no monthly fees, no load fees, no transactional fees, only a R5 withdrawal fee).
• No physical paperwork (everything is digital).
• It is easily accessible via any mobile phone and available for free via the Shoprite app, USSD, WhatsApp or the Xtra Savings card.

Along with this exciting new feature, Shoprite has now made it possible to link your Xtra Savings card to your Money Market Account. Users can swipe their Xtra Savings card at any Shoprite, Checkers or Usave store and do transactions within the store with their Xtra Savings card.
