Are you a fan of going back in time and playing games you didn’t get the chance to play when you were younger? Sleeping Dogs was originally released in 2012, however, its graphics have stood the test of time. Experience a thrilling storyline as an undercover cop exploring the streets of Hong Kong in what many describe as one of the OG games.

Watch Dogs Legion

Watch Dogs Legion is the third Watch Dogs game, and if you played the first two, then you will definitely enjoy this one. The game is based in London and you get to experience what the city would look like in the future. For Khanya, one of the cool features is that you can hack almost anything in the city, from people’s mobile devices, to traffic lights and cars. For him, it's one of the best open-world/third-person games on the market.

Riders Republic

For many individuals during their childhood, Riders Republic would have been a dream come true. With an incredible multiplayer experience, players can participate in various extreme sports, including skiing, snowboarding, biking, and wingsuit flying in real-time. It offers endless possibilities for exciting gameplay, offering something for everyone to enjoy.

Riders Republic is a popular choice for those who love BMX, skating, or extreme sports. It’s easy to immerse yourself in the awesome graphics and great stunts” - Khanya

It Takes Two

“If you're looking for a unique and engaging co-op gaming experience, then It Takes Two should definitely be on your radar.” - Danny

At its core, it is a heartwarming tale about a couple struggling to save their relationship and how they navigate obstacles in a whimsical and fantastical world.

The game requires two players to work together to solve puzzles, defeat enemies, and progress through the story. One of the things that make It Takes Two stand out from other co-op games is the fact that each player controls a different character, and the gameplay is designed in such a way that both players must work in tandem to progress.

“I played this with my boyfriend and had lots of laughs and maybe a few tears of joy!” - Danny

Baldur’s Gate 3

If you like high fantasy, choice-driven games or Dungeons and Dragons, chances are you will also enjoy Baldur’s Gate 3.

The game is still in early access, with the full release scheduled for August 2023. However, you should still be able to get about 25 hours of gameplay with a single character. Due to the different choices you can make and the consequences of those choices, the game can, and we think should, be played multiple times.

This game is the closest thing a solo player can get to a real Dungeons and Dragons experience, with a lot of freedom without being overly limited by the game’s core mechanics.

We asked Nadia why she recommended Baldur’s Gate 3:

"What we know of the story so far is intriguing and doesn’t take too long to get you invested. The game has some great graphics and effects with beautiful cutscenes. There are some really interesting character interactions and overall great attention to detail. This game is a fun, unique experience that you might find yourself slightly addicted to."

Horizon: Forbidden West

"It's an action-adventure game with an intriguing storyline." - Jason

It’s the sequel to Horizon: Zero Dawn. So if you’ve played that, this will be perfect for you, or even if you haven’t, now is the time. With enough content to keep you occupied for days without feeling repetitive or tedious, and with a DLC on the way, you will have more than enough content to enjoy.

Conclusion

To sum up, the games recommended by our Orbiters offer something for everyone to enjoy, regardless of your interests and preferences. With compelling storylines, impressive graphics, and innovative gameplay mechanics, you are sure to level up your gaming experience this long weekend and embark on an unforgettable journey in the virtual realm.
