Receptionist

As the receptionist you will be the first representative for the company when a client or anyone walks through the door . Therefore being presentable and professional at all times is of utmost importance. On a daily basis you will be required to interact with people therefore great communication skills will be required  We are looking for a motivated self starter, who has strong organisational skills and shows attention to detail.

Skills & requirements

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years experience as a receptionist, their own transport and a matric certificate. A relevant qualification would be an advantage.

The receptionist is responsible for answering, screening and transferring all calls and taking messages when necessary as well as ensuring there is always someone to manage incoming calls. It is also the receptionists job to ensure out of office message is activated on switchboard when necessary.

You will need to ensure reception area is tidy and presentable. It is the duty of the receptionist to greet guests as soon as they arrive and direct visitors to the appropriate office and inform the correct person. You will also be responsible for receiving, sorting and distribute daily mail/deliveries as well as maintaining office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk.

It is the responsibility of the receptionist to ensure the meeting rooms and business area is always neat and presentable. It is important that you are aware of all meetings happening in the business area everyday and assist by preparing the rooms when required. 

Part of the responsibilities of the receptionist includes, but is not limited to:



  • Filing, scanning and photocopying

  • Update calendars and schedule meetings

  • Arrange travel and accommodation when necessary

  • Keep inventory of office supplies

  • Purchase groceries / Stationery

  • Run office errands

  • Ensure cupboards are organised and maintained

  • Make reservations / Bookings

  • Plan lunch and liaise with caterers

  • Assist with events planning

  • Assist management with ad hoc requests
